I am a dedicated, Christ loving, God fearing Full Stack Software Engineer. I've been on an incredible journey into the tech industry. For 7 years, I was a UPS driver, and while it paid well, came with strong benefits, and God used it to bring my wife and I together (She worked at a Jewelry store on my route!), after becoming a husband and a father, the job started taking more than it gave. I was away from home 12, hours a day, most times 6 days a week, my family life was suffering; I wasn't able to be present, I was missing precious moments, and my wife was struggling to carry the responsibilities at home alone for so long each day. I had discussed with my wife in the past how I would thrive as a software engineer and God met us in this season, moved my wife to push me in the right direction, and provided the opportunity for me to take a Full Stack Engineer Career Course at Springboard. Every day for a year, I worked my shift at UPS, got home to help get the girls to sleep, and then hopped on the computer to complete my school lessons and assignments until 4am, all the while leaning into God, trusting that we were in his hands.
Fast forward to the present, I am now working from home as a Full Stack Software Engineer at York Solutions. My daughter was born on February, 2024 and I've been able to be more present and experience the precious moments I once missed out on with my family.
At York, I was selected for their TSG (Technology Solutions Group), a rigorous training program that's basically a 6 week, trial-by-fire, intense bootcamp. After passing the training, I was immediately put onto an internal project for York's first subsidiary's flagship product. We had 2 weeks to build a full-stack proof of concept that was scheduled to be presented to key stakeholders. The project was a huge success which led to the greenlighting of the product. I then was placed onto a long-term project with York's client Thrivent Financial decommissioning, updating, and modernizing legacy services and creating new applications.
During this project I have:

Utilized Java and Spring Boot to refactor and improve existing services, making them more scalable, secure, and maintainable.
Spearheaded automation for migrating repositories from Bitbucket to GitHub and helped implement Terraform and GitHub Actions to streamline infrastructure deployment and CI/CD pipelines.
Due to consistent performance and problem-solving ability, I’ve become the go-to engineer sent to assist other teams when blockers arise and deadlines are tight, trusted by management to bring critical work to completion.
Worked collaboratively within an Agile team environment and played a key role in developing and deploying reliable, production-ready services.
