Staff Software Engineer

Naperville, IL
staff
Mouna Bamba-Simmons is a Staff Software Engineer with over 30 years of experience building secure, reliable distributed systems across research, government, and commercial environments. Her work spans DARPA and Department of Energy initiatives to production-grade cybersecurity platforms, where she has consistently translated complex technical ideas into scalable, real-world solutions.
She is the original developer of the technology behind NetAPT, which she later helped evolve and commercialize as NP-View through a co-founded startup. Today, she contributes to the protection of critical infrastructure at Dragos, integrating advanced network visibility and attack-path modeling into systems that safeguard essential services.
Mouna brings deep expertise in distributed systems architecture, network security, and platform engineering, along with hands-on experience in modern technologies such as Node.js, APIs, containerization, and CI/CD. She is known for her ownership mindset, her ability to bridge disciplines, and her commitment to building systems that are both durable and trustworthy.
Grounded in her Christian faith, Mouna is increasingly focused on stewarding her skills toward work that reflects Kingdom values—serving others, advancing truth, and contributing to projects that carry meaning beyond technology. She is drawn to opportunities where excellence in engineering can support stories, communities, and work that bring light into the world.
