Project Management

Dwell is seeking a detail-oriented Audio Editor to serve as a technical expert in crafting, refining, and delivering immersive listening experiences that help people engage with Scripture.

Overview
At Dwell, audio is at the heart of what we do. We create beautiful, immersive listening experiences that help people slow down, engage with Scripture, and make space to dwell with God.

We’re looking for an Audio Editor to help bring those experiences to life with exceptional craft, care, and attention to detail. Working closely with our Content Team, you’ll serve as a technical audio expert across Dwell’s growing library of content, which includes Scripture, devotionals, prayer and sleep experiences, kids’ content, plans and playlists, and new resources we haven’t dreamed up yet. You'll help us ensure every finished experience feels seamless and beautiful to the person listening.

If you have a finely tuned ear, love solving audio problems, care deeply about the details, and are excited about the opportunity to use your craft to share God's word, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do
Edit and Craft Beautiful Audio
  • Edit voiceover audio from raw recordings through final delivery, including noise and artifact removal, breath cleanup, timing adjustments, comping, pickup integration, and detailed waveform editing.
  • Master final audio to Dwell’s technical standards, including loudness, dynamics, EQ, peak levels, noise floor, and overall sonic consistency.
  • Edit and arrange music to support the listening experience, including placing and layering stems, creating seamless fades and transitions, and adjusting timing and structure around voiceover.
  • Bring a practical and artistic ear to every project, considering not only whether the audio is technically correct, but whether the finished experience feels natural, immersive, and beautiful.
  • Identify performance, pacing, pronunciation, or recording issues that may require pickups or re-recording, and communicate clear notes to the production team.

Support Voice Talent
  • Help voiceover artists and contributors achieve high-quality recordings, including guidance on recording setup, microphone placement, signal levels, room treatment, and other technical considerations.
  • Troubleshoot recording issues remotely and help determine whether source audio can be repaired or should be re-recorded.
  • Provide clear, approachable technical guidance to people with varying levels of audio experience.

Work with Emerging Audio Technology
  • Work hands-on with text-to-speech (TTS) and synthetic voice technologies as part of Dwell’s current audio production workflows.
  • Evaluate generated speech for pronunciation, pacing, tone, consistency, artifacts, and overall listening quality.
  • Edit and refine TTS output to meet Dwell’s standards and integrate naturally alongside other audio elements.
  • Help develop repeatable workflows, standards, and best practices for producing excellent synthetic-voice content.

Support Production Workflows
  • Support the production of recurring audio series, shows, and special projects from pre-production through final delivery.
  • Work closely with producers, writers, voice talent, and other collaborators to keep technically complex projects on track.
  • Anticipate common recording issues and delays before they arise, and creatively integrate solutions into workflows ahead of time.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines at once while maintaining a consistently high bar for quality.

Own the Details
  • Proof audio carefully for cleanliness, consistency, pronunciation, pacing, diction, technical quality, and adherence to the approved manuscript.
  • QA completed experiences in their final playback context, checking sequencing, transitions, fades, loops, music balance, encoding or playback issues, and the overall listener experience.
  • Maintain thorough organizational systems for all production assets, session files, scripts, pickups, music, notes, and final deliverables using consistent naming, export, and archival practices.
  • Follow and help strengthen Dwell’s audio QA standards, templates, documentation, and production workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production speed and consistency through templates, batch processing, plugins, automation, and other tools, without sacrificing the care and craftsmanship that distinguish Dwell’s audio.

What We’re Looking For
  • At least 3 years of professional audio editing, engineering, or post-production experience, working extensively with both voiceover audio and music.
  • Expert proficiency in a professional DAW such as Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, Reaper, or a comparable platform. You should be comfortable learning Dwell’s preferred tools and helping others use them effectively.
  • Deep knowledge of voiceover editing, audio restoration, mixing, mastering, EQ, dynamics, loudness, and other post-production fundamentals.
  • Experience working with text-to-speech, synthetic voice, or related voice technologies, with the ability to hear and correct the subtle issues that can make generated speech feel unnatural.
  • A refined ear for audio quality, performance, and pacing. Musically inclined with a strong sense of rhythm.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • A thoughtful balance of craftsmanship and efficiency. You know when something requires careful time and attention, and when a tool, template, or process can solve the problem.
  • Strong technical instincts and a genuine enjoyment of troubleshooting difficult problems.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • High ownership and self-direction. You’re comfortable working remotely, managing your time effectively, and advancing work without constant oversight.
  • Familiarity with the Bible and enthusiasm for Dwell’s mission to help people engage deeply and meaningfully with Scripture.

How You’ll Work
This role is full-time and remote. You’ll have flexibility in how you structure much of your work while remaining responsive to project timelines and collaborative needs.

You’ll work closely with Dwell’s Content Team, which owns our broader production vision and quality standards. Your role is to bring deep technical expertise, excellent judgment, and meticulous execution to that vision, helping us create audio that feels effortless to the listener because of the care that went into making it.
