Remote Social & Community Manager

 As our Social & Community Manager you'll be the heartbeat of our community both in the app and on social media. 

Operating under our signature account, you'll welcome users, monitor in-app activity, and manage our social media presence honing in on our unique voice. You're the friendly face that will make Faith.Online feel like home for thousands of users.

Contract: 10-20 hours/week with growth potential as we scale.

and health

● Perceptive: You notice when engagement drops or something feels off
● Warm communicator: You write with empathy, clarity, and authenticity
● Grace-filled: You assume good intent but don't ignore red flags
● Anti-hustle culture: You understand "less is more" in social media—intentional drops
over content overload on social media

Who We’re Not Looking For:

● Content advisor (we have a team handling doctrine)
● Content creator (you curate and engage, not produce volume)
● Moderator policy-maker (Content Advisors set standards)

What You Bring

● 5+ years in community management or social media
● Warm, empathetic and clear communicator who genuinely cares about people
● Social media fluency (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Substack)
● Self-starter and fast-responder who sees what needs doing and does it

Bonus: Background in ministry/nonprofit for a faith-based/mission-driven org is a huge plus

Timeline

Phase 1: Pre-Launch (Weeks 1-2) — 60% Social, 40% In-App Prep

Social Media Rollout:
● Goal: is to establish brand identity, recruit and drive to the app
● Philosophy: We're a movement with a message, not a content factory
● Strategy: Intentional drops that make people say "Wait, this exists? I need this."
    ○ Initial brand presence posts; light posts on Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
    ○ Prompt response to DMs/comments
● NOT: Daily posts, memes, engagement bait, content treadmill

In-App Prep:
● Familiarize yourself with the app, test user flows
● Coordinate with Content Advisors on News Feed content pipeline
● Prep welcome messages and onboarding materials for beta users

Phase 2: Post-Launch (Week 5+) — 70% In-App, 30% Social

In-App Community Management:
● Goal: Make Faith.Online feel like a true community, not a faceless platform
● Operate the Faith.Online alias account (every user's first connection)
    ○ AI sends automated welcome messages, you respond personally when users
engage
    ○ Proactively check in with users, highlight testimonies, seed conversations
    ○ Highlight testimonies, celebrate milestones, seed conversations
● Monitor Fellowship Stream and News Feed daily for community health
● Flag theological concerns to Content Advisors (AI handles spam/profanity)
● Track engagement metrics, report weekly to leadership
● Identify and nurture 5-10 "power users" who champion the platform

Social Media Maintenance:
● Post ~1x/week per platform (maintenance mode)
● Cross-post testimonies/highlights from in-app community to social
● Respond to DMs/comments within 48 hours
Compensation
● Competitive for highly desirable candidates
