Overview

Guidelight Technology Solutions seeks a practical, reliable Frontend Engineer to build and maintain Web application interfaces.

You will collaborate with backend engineers who provide APIs and application services. Across projects, you will translate requirements and designs into maintainable interfaces, identify integration needs early, and deliver changes through review and testing.

You will own assigned frontend work, communicating progress, blockers, and decisions needed.

Responsibilities

1. Frontend Application Development
  • Build and maintain application interfaces using Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
  • Implement responsive layouts, navigation, forms, tables, filters, and other application workflows.
  • Translate requirements and mockups into clear, usable interfaces.
  • Handle loading, empty, error, validation, and permission-dependent states.
  • Build reusable components and maintain consistent interface patterns.
  • Improve accessibility, browser compatibility, and frontend performance.
  • Maintain existing features and troubleshoot frontend defects.

2. Backend Collaboration and API Integration
  • Collaborate with backend engineers on SaaS and client system features and integrations.
  • Agree on API contracts, data requirements, validation behavior, and error handling.
  • Integrate APIs and authentication flows while respecting backend authorization rules.
  • Identify missing endpoints or unclear behavior early.
  • Coordinate frontend and backend changes through staging and release.
  • Help investigate issues that cross the frontend/backend boundary.

3. Quality, Releases, and Documentation
  • Use Git and pull requests for reviewed changes.
  • Add appropriate automated tests for important application behavior.
  • Validate changes in staging, including responsive layouts and critical user journeys.
  • Collaborate on CI/CD checks and deployment workflows.
  • Document setup requirements, implementation decisions, and website administration procedures.
  • Provide clear updates on progress, dependencies, and release readiness.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with Next.js and React.
  • Strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills.
  • Strong HTML and CSS, including responsive layouts and modern browser behavior.
  • Experience integrating APIs and handling authentication, validation, and asynchronous UI states.
  • Ability to structure reusable components and maintain an existing frontend codebase.
  • Practical accessibility knowledge, including semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, and accessible forms.
  • Experience troubleshooting frontend performance and browser compatibility.
  • Experience with Git, pull requests, and collaborative development.
  • Experience testing frontend behavior and validating production releases.
  • Strong written communication and the ability to work independently on agreed priorities.
  • Careful handling of credentials and client information.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SaaS interfaces or CRM applications.
  • Experience with data-heavy tables, dashboards, search, and filtering workflows.
  • Experience translating Figma designs into production interfaces.
  • Experience with component libraries or design systems.
  • Familiarity with Playwright, React Testing Library, or comparable testing tools.
  • Experience with UI/UX design

What Success Looks Like

Over time:

  • Application features work reliably across supported browsers and screen sizes.
  • Frontend and backend changes integrate smoothly.
  • Interfaces handle errors and edge cases clearly.
  • Important visitor actions are tracked accurately.
  • Changes receive appropriate review and validation before release.
  • Work progresses with clear communication about blockers and decisions needed.
