About the Company

FaithOnline is building a Gospel-centered digital ecosystem designed to foster meaningful formation, authentic connection, and spiritually grounded community online. We believe technology should serve transformation in Christ -- not distraction, addiction, or noise.

We are pre-launch and moving fast. Our platform is iOS and Android first, built for believers who want more than a scroll. As we scale, every engineer we bring on is a core contributor to both the product and the mission. We don't hire people to fill seats. We hire builders who care about what they're building.

The Role

We're looking for a talented, mission-aligned Full-Stack Engineer who can contribute across the entire stack -- mobile, backend, and web. You'll work on a real product with real users in a fast-moving startup environment where your work ships quickly and matters deeply.

This is not a corporate engineering role with layers of process and slow cycles. We move fast, learn fast, and adjust fast. The right person thrives in that environment and genuinely cares about what they're building.

This role starts as a contractor position starting at 20 hours. Hours and scope may grow with the platform.

What You'll Work On

Mobile (iOS + Android)

  • Build and maintain features across our iOS and Android mobile applications
  • Implement polished, performant UIs using Material Design components
  • Work closely with our designer in Figma to bring screens to life with pixel precision
  • Contribute to app performance, stability, and crash-free quality
  • Support App Store and Google Play submission, build, and release processes

Backend & Infrastructure

  • Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines
  • Work within our core stack: Supabase (auth + database), GCP (infrastructure), Redis (caching), GetStream (social feed + messaging)
  • Contribute to performance, scalability, and reliability as we grow
  • Collaborate with the backend team on architecture decisions

Web & Admin

  • Contribute to our web admin dashboard and any web-facing surfaces
  • Write clean, maintainable code across frontend and backend layers
  • Help build internal tooling and operational systems that keep the platform running smoothly

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the product, design, and QA teams
  • Participate in sprint planning, ticket refinement, and cross-team communication via Slack and Jira
  • Engage proactively -- surface issues early, propose solutions, and take ownership end to end

Our Tech Stack

You should be comfortable -- or quickly get comfortable -- working across all of these:

  • Mobile: Flutter (iOS + Android)
  • Design: Figma, Material Design components
  • Social/Messaging: GetStream
  • Auth + Database: Supabase
  • Infrastructure: GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
  • Caching: Redis
  • Content CMS: Ghost
  • Analytics: Mixpanel
  • Testing: BrowserStack (App Live + App Automate)
  • Project Management: Jira, Slack, Confluence/Notion
  • Backend: NodeJS + Express + Inversify

What You Bring

  • Passion for faith-based work and genuine alignment with FaithOnline's mission and values: https://www.faith.online/about
  • 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience with a strong mobile foundation
  • Proven experience shipping Flutter apps on iOS and Android, ideally from early-stage to production
  • Comfort working with Material Design components and translating Figma designs into production-quality UIs
  • Experience working across the stack -- mobile, backend APIs, and web
  • Startup experience -- comfortable with ambiguity, changing priorities, and quick iteration
  • A genuine embrace of AI tools -- not just to work smarter and move faster, but as part of how you build: using AI to accelerate development, improve code quality, and solve problems more creatively
  • Collaborative and communicative -- you work well with a team and take ownership of your work
  • Aligned with FaithOnline's mission and the call of the Great Commission

Bonus Points

  • Experience with GetStream or similar social/activity feed platforms
  • Experience with Supabase or Firebase-style backend-as-a-service
  • Familiarity with Ghost CMS or similar content platforms
  • Experience supporting app store submissions, TestFlight, and Google Play Console
  • Background in faith-based, mission-driven, or community-focused products

What Success Looks Like

  • Shipping quality features on iOS and Android that delight users and advance the mission
  • Moving quickly through the stack without creating technical debt that slows the team down
  • Collaborating well with design, backend, QA, and product with minimal friction
  • Taking ownership of your workstream -- you know what you're responsible for and you deliver
  • Growing with the platform as it scales from early traction into a thriving community of believers

A Note on Who We Are

FaithOnline is a Gospel-centered platform built on a clear Statement of Faith. We believe in the authority of Scripture, salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and the call of the Great Commission. We are building technology in service of the Church -- not in competition with it. The engineer we hire should share this foundation. You don't have to agree with every implementation decision we make. But you should believe in what we are building and why.
