Summary
To serve the members and staff of Samaritan Ministries International (SMI) by leading a team of software developers to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications. This role involves managing the team's workload, setting project timelines, and ensuring that the team delivers high-quality software solutions on time
Pay Range: $111,500-$176,100 Starting pay usually falls within the lower half of the pay range and is determined by experience, skills, and education.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of developers to deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within budget, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Collaborate with the team to evaluate and select the optimal solutions from proposed options, ensuring decisions are data-driven and aligned with project goals and company standards.
- Effectively communicate and implement directives from senior leadership, while practicing radical candor—maintaining open, honest dialogue with the team, providing constructive feedback, and encouraging transparency.
- Build and maintain a high-trust team environment by promoting open communication, accountability, and mutual respect among team members.
- Coordinate with contractors and local resources to integrate their work seamlessly into projects, ensuring clear communication and alignment on objectives.
- Develop and implement training programs to keep the team current on the latest technologies, tools, and best practices, with a focus on AWS, Vue.js, and Node.js.
- Address HR-related matters, including performance evaluations, conflict resolution, and employee development plans, while promoting a positive, inclusive, and productive work culture.
- Ensure the development team adheres to industry best practices in software engineering—such as agile methodologies, code reviews, and testing protocols—to drive organizational success.
- Stay updated on emerging industry trends and technologies through ongoing professional development, leveraging this knowledge to guide the team and enhance processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in a software development management role, with a proven track record of leading teams and delivering complex projects successfully.
- Proven track record of developing talent through training, mentoring, and creating opportunities for professional growth.
- Familiarity with HR practices related to talent management, employee relations, and compliance, with a focus on building cohesive, high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in AWS, Vue.js, and Node.js is highly desirable, with a willingness to deepen expertise in these areas.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a distributed team, with strong skills in coaching, mentoring, and Performance Management.
- Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations, weigh alternatives, and make timely, informed decisions aligned with strategic objectives.
- Exceptional communication skills, with experience providing candid, constructive feedback and fostering open dialogue within a team.
- A passion for lifelong learning, with a proactive approach to personal and professional development, and a commitment to encouraging the same in team members.
Additional Information
- Tasks are normally conducted in a regular office environment, requiring use of computer and mouse and other standard office equipment. Staff usually remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Staff will observe safety principles while performing the duties of the position
- May need to lift and move items up to 35 lbs on occasion
- Staff will be required to travel and have a valid driver's license.
