Description
Christianity Today (CT) is looking for a Data Analyst to play a central role in CT’s Business Operations team. In this role, you will work closely with CT’s Data Architect and the VP of Marketing Operations to explore data and deliver insights to drive better business decisions and ROI across the organization, manage our various databases, automate reporting and work processes, and help integrate and connect various platforms in our tech stack.

By effectively managing data and delivering insights, you will assist in creating a better experience for visitors and CT members around the world, and your efforts will make an immediate difference through CT’s growing Kingdom impact.

Job Functions and Responsibilities
  • Reporting and Presentation: Work closely with various teams, including marketing, finance, and editorial, to share the latest insights through comprehensive reports and presentations.
  • Visualization and Dashboarding: Create and update charts and dashboards to visualize data effectively, ensuring stakeholders have easy access to critical information.
  • KPI Monitoring: Define and monitor business KPIs to evaluate trends and detect abnormalities, providing actionable insights for decision-makers. 
  • Data Preparation & Cleaning: Prepare and clean data according to the needs of various teams and projects, ensuring accuracy and usability. 
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad hoc analyses to address specific business questions and provide timely insights for decision-making. 
  • Data Accuracy: Ensure the accuracy of data by implementing quality control processes and regular audits to maintain data integrity. 
  • Collaboration: Assist other data professionals to enhance data workflows and optimize analytical processes. 
  • Education: Promote data literacy within the organization by educating staff on data-related best practices and tools, fostering a data-driven culture. 
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years: relational databases and SQL. Knowledge of Snowflake is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1 year: data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, ggplot2, etc.)
  • Degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, mathematics, or other relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel required
  • Research or work experience with Python, R, or Julia preferred.
  • It would be a plus if you possess experience and familiarity with any of the following platforms: ActiveCampaign, BigCommerce, Blackbaud, Drift, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Hubspot, Megaphone, Piano, Sage Intacct, Shopify, Squarespace, Stripe, Substack, WordPress, Zapier, Zendesk 
  • Ability to present data and insights clearly, both in technical details and in layman's terms 
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) 
  • Strong data manipulation, analysis, and visualization skills 
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.

Employment Details
  • CT's headquarters are located in Illinois. 
  • This is a fully remote position.
  • This full time position has a workweek of 37.50 hours per week.
  • This is a salaried position with an Exempt FLSA status. 

Exact compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and location.
