The Graphic Designer supports The Gospel Coalition’s mission by creating compelling visual designs that communicate biblical truth with clarity and excellence. This role ensures TGC’s brand identity is consistently represented across digital, print, and social platforms. They serve as both a creative contributor and design steward, helping our team present resources in a visually engaging way—while maintaining alignment with TGC’s voice, brand standards, and theological commitments.
Description
Reporting: To the Vice President of Operations
Status: Part-Time / Remote
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- 3-5 years of professional design experience (freelance, agency, or ministry preferred)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma.
- Strong portfolio showcasing creative and versatile design work
- Ability to design for print, digital, social media, and web platforms
- Strong attention to detail with excellent typography, layout, and branding skills
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Collaborative, flexible, and able to work with cross-functional teams
- Strong communication skills and ability to translate ideas into visuals
- Alignment with The Gospel Coalition’s mission, vision, and theological convictions
- Servant-hearted attitude and commitment to excellence in ministry work
- Understanding of marketing and the importance of compelling visual creative
Responsibilities
- Design graphics and visual assets for TGC’s digital platforms, social media, email, web, and print publications
- Maintain consistency with TGC’s brand identity and visual standards across all projects
- Collaborate with editorial, social, and development teams to translate content into compelling visual design
- Develop creative concepts and layouts that support campaigns, events, and resource launches
- Adapt existing designs for multiple formats, platforms, and audience needs
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met with excellence
- Provide design support for ministry-wide initiatives when necessary
- Contribute creative input during planning meetings and brainstorming sessions
- Ensure all designs uphold TGC’s theological commitments and mission-driven communication goals
Expectations
- Work approximately 20 hours per week
- Maintain proactive communication with the Production Coordinator regarding project status, priorities, and needs
- Respond promptly to design requests and manage workload with professionalism and reliability
- Stay current with design trends and best practices, applying insights to TGC’s visual communications
- Ensure that all design work reflects theological clarity, organizational professionalism, and brand consistency
- Uphold deadlines and deliver projects that meet or exceed quality standards
- Model servant leadership and foster a collaborative, gospel-centered team culture
