Remote Senior Director, Bible Technology Team

The Senior Director, Bible Technology Team is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, implementation, execution, product & project management, and personnel for the Bible Technology Team’s suite of products. The Bible Technology suite of products is technology for Bible Translation teams—tools that allow Bible translation teams to take advantage of advances in machine learning and natural language processing. The technology auto-aligns a target language text to the original Greek and Hebrew, which ensures stronger agreement with the original meaning. It also helps translators see patterns, discover inconsistencies, and correct mistakes in their work. The Senior Director, Bible Technology Team is responsible for the teams of experts doing this work, and the success of implementing these initiatives. This role manages a team of software developers, systems architects, linguists, data scientists, and Biblical scholars.
- Oversees direct reports, Independent Contractors, independent software engineering vendors, and their respective teams.
- Builds and develops the Bible Technology team.
- Manages the day-to-day operations and implementation for all Bible Technology Team initiatives.
- Collaborates with the Vice President of Digital Innovation to determine the mission, purpose, and priorities of the division to support the Digital Innovation Team’s goals, objectives, and key results as they pertain to Bible Technology.
- Sets annual goals and budgets for areas of responsibility according to organization wide and departmental short- and long-term goals.
- Manages budgets for team for projects, programs, travel, and related expenses.
- Manages the Bible Technology Product Teams.
- Manages a high-caliber team, confidently expressing ideas and contributing to productive dialogue.
- Fosters a positive work environment by maintaining open lines of communication, even during challenging conversations.
- Collaborates with teams to design system architecture, create a positive engineering culture, oversee data and datasets, and provide strategic direction.
- Manages ICA and vendor relationships.
- Establishes and hold teams accountable for milestones, deliverables, budgets, and timelines.
- Works with teams under direct supervision to create a cohesive and comprehensive product vision across the Bible Technology suite of products.
- Collaborates and meets regularly with other Biblica departments—especially the translation departments.
- Represent Biblica at meetings and events pertaining the field of focus.
- Stays abreast of industry trends.
- Participate in daily prayer and devotions.
- Signing authority of $10,000.
- Other duties as required.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in product management, business management, project management, or related field.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a position of business leadership, team management and organizational operations management.
- 2 - 3 years’ experience in Product Management.
- 3 - 5 years’ supervisory experience with multiple direct reports.
- Experience working with software engineers a plus.
- Experience working with linguistic experts, scholars, and with translation technology such as machine translation and natural language processing a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Able to work remotely and independently with minimal supervision
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Able to work within flexible hours, including meetings outside traditional business hours
- Must have a current passport or ability to apply for one when needed.
- The ability for up to 15% overnight travel to various locations locally, regionally, and globally.

Salary/Hours/Benefits
- Full-Time
- Salary range: $103,016 - $131,346 (Determined by qualifications/experience)
- Hours: 40+ hours per week
