Position Overview 
The Director of Data & Business Intelligence leads our data infrastructure and analytics strategy to support strategic decision-making across Come and See Foundation. This role transforms complex data into actionable insights that advance our mission of sharing the story of Jesus globally. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director serves as a trusted advisor and strategic partner, combining technical expertise with deep spiritual and emotional maturity to build a data-driven culture that serves our global operations. 
The ideal candidate brings proven experience managing organizational data, demonstrated analytical excellence, and strong multitasking abilities with a servant-hearted approach to leadership. This role maintains and monitors databases, ensures data quality and security, develops data-driven recommendations for key business and ministry decisions, and performs market analysis to inform product preferences, market penetration strategies, and program effectiveness. The Director will leverage data to maximize operational efficiency, manage risk, and position the organization for greater kingdom impact.  

Key Responsibilities 

Data Policy and Compliance 
  • Develop and maintain data compliance policies in alignment with relevant regulations (GDPR, CCPA), working closely with legal and internal teams to ensure the organization's data practices adhere to applicable laws
  • Ensure regulatory compliance monitoring and evolving regulations through data privacy and protection initiatives, staying current on necessary changes in data handling processes and conducting thorough privacy impact assessments
  • Implement and enforce data security controls preventing unauthorized access while maintaining data integrity, establishing access control mechanisms and collaborating with IT and internal teams to define protocols and permissions
  • Oversee data breach response protocols, leading incident investigation and recovery efforts, ensuring timely measures to mitigate impact and required notifications to affected individuals and relevant authorities
  • Collaborate with teams responsible for data quality and integrity management, ensuring compliance requirements are integrated into data classification, retention, and disposal processes
  • Provide ongoing training on data best practices and compliance requirements through awareness campaigns and guidelines that foster a culture of data compliance throughout the organization
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments for new projects and programs, taking a proactive approach to identify and address potential risks early with appropriate measures implemented to maintain compliance
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies, facilitating compliance reviews and providing necessary documentation and evidence of adherence to regulatory requirements

Business Intelligence
  • Provide strategic business and technical management of the Business Intelligence platform, overseeing development, operations, projects, and ministry impact reporting
  • Build strong partnerships with stakeholders across the organization to maintain executive-level reporting with consistent, high-quality, on-time delivery
  • Conduct executive reporting and competitive intelligence, developing associated policies, methodologies, and resources
  • Spearhead modeling and analytics efforts to provide insights into new product and program launches
  • Design and develop analytical reporting metrics and dashboards across all critical business units for senior leadership review
  • Develop quantitative analysis supporting data modeling, database design, data mining, and segmentation techniques
  • Serve as subject matter expert on Business Intelligence, creating actionable recommendations to improve organizational performance
  • Manage data gathering efforts with internal and external business and ministry partners
  • Serve as key liaison between organizational leaders and IT, acquiring and delivering on business requirements and managing external vendors
  • Manage all Business Intelligence projects including milestones, deliverables, budgets, resources, and stakeholder relationships
  • Provide thought leadership by identifying new business intelligence platforms that drive data democratization and self-service analytics

Personnel and Organizational Leadership
  • Provide support and guidance to staff on complex, specialized, and sensitive data-related questions and issues
  • Collaborate with COO, CEO, and other executives to align data strategy and compliance with organizational vision
  • Build organizational readiness to support broader operational and strategic decisions

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in data and business intelligence
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership position
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and projects
  • Proficiency in BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik) and data management software
  • Experience with SQL and data warehousing concepts
