Remote Full Stack Engineer

Come Near is seeking mission-aligned full-stack software engineers to join our product and technology team. These engineers will be responsible for building and maintaining high-quality digital platforms and systems across a portfolio of initiatives. Working closely with design, product, and external vendor partners, the engineers will deliver solutions that are innovative, scalable, secure, and aligned with our vision to boldly meet culture with the heart of Jesus.

These roles require broad technical expertise, adaptability across frontend and backend systems, and a focus on operational excellence. Engineers will leverage AI tools responsibly to accelerate delivery while ensuring production-grade quality through human oversight and governance.

● Design, develop, and deliver software features across the full stack: frontend interfaces, backend service, and data integrations.

● Build modular, reusable components for use across multiple initiatives.

● Contribute to infrastructure, data and application layers, caching, and CDN strategies as needed for performance and scalability.

● Collaborate with product, design, research, and marketing partners to ideate, prototype, and bring new concepts to life.

● Partner with external vendor teams to scale execution while maintaining internal standards.

● Apply AI-assisted workflows to accelerate development, testing, and documentation, ensuring validation and production readiness.

● Write and maintain automated tests, participate in QA processes, and support continuous integration practices to ensure reliability.

● Support automation pipelines, observability, monitoring, and incident response within the AWS ecosystem.

● Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.

● 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.

● Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Python, or similar modern stacks, and frontend frameworks such as React, Astro, or similar.

● Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and automation pipelines.

● Understanding of application performance, security best practices, and SEO considerations.

● Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows.

● Experience partnering with product, design, research, and operations teams to deliver v1 products.

● Experience working backwards from the neighbor (customer) to create loveable products.

● Bonus: media delivery pipelines, infrastructure automation, security best practices, or AI/ML integrations.
