Your Day in the Role

Who You Are

1. A visual storyteller with a deep love for typography, layout, and meaningful design — you intuitively understand how to communicate ideas clearly and beautifully through visual form.
2. A thoughtful designer who brings both intelligence and inspiration to the creative process. You can generate ideas that are as smart as they are attractive, and you’re eager to make each project excellent.
3. A dependable contributor who manages deadlines well, communicates clearly with collaborators, and brings a team-first attitude to every assignment.
4. A learner at heart, confident in your creative abilities but always looking to grow — whether that’s through feedback, critique, or stretching into new design disciplines.
   
   

What You Bring

• Strong creative problem-solving instincts and attention to detail.
• A trained (or finely tuned) eye for typography, color, and composition.
• The ability to offer and receive critique with humility and clarity.
• Competence with design systems and visual consistency, including grids and layout hierarchies.
• Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite — especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. (Figma experience is a bonus.)
• A compelling portfolio that demonstrates:
  • Range and versatility in style and output.
  • Visual cleverness and craftsmanship.
  • Examples of branding, logo design, layout, and print work.
    
    

Your future team 

• You’d join the Creative team, which includes the creative director, a graphic designer, and video specialists. 
• You’d collaborate across departments to design beautiful, compelling visuals for the website, social media, emails, and print pieces.
• You’d play a key role in our “ministry of beautiful,” which seeks to lift up and celebrate biblical truth. We are persuaded that beautiful things become real windows into spiritual things.

Requirements for the role 

• Ability to adhere to our affirmation of faith. 
• Able to legally work in the United States without sponsorship. 
• Desiring God is a hybrid workplace located in Minneapolis, MN, however we are prioritizing talent over location for this role.
• This position is eligible for full-time benefits, including medical, dental, life, LTD, and 401k match. Salary range for this position is $70k – $85k, commensurate with experience.
